Change of Name

2016 with begin a bright new chapter in the history of our school. From January 1st2016 SJPIICPS will become known as St John Paul II Catholic Primary School, Banksia Grove. We are taking on the name of the patron of our Catholic Community here in Banksia Grove, which will clearly identify us as a Catholic Community.

To complement the new name there will also be a new Principal. Mr. Chris Lamb has been appointed as the first Principal of St John Paul II Catholic Primary School. At this time we are the only Catholic Primary school in Australia bearing his name.

He was a vocal advocate for human rights and used his influence to effect political change. He died in Italy in 2005. It was announced in July of 2013 that he would be declared a saint in April of the following year. His feast day is celebrated on October 22nd.
